Canadian restaurant chain Pita Pit opened a new franchise store in the Delmar Loop, as it eyes an expansion of up to 20 more stores in the area in the next five years.
Located at 6120 Delmar Blvd., Pita Pit serves pita sandwiches and opened May 6, said owner Jordan Martin, a 24-year-old St. Louis native who opened the franchise. Martin said he discovered Pita Pit while visiting his girlfriend at George Washington University. (He graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, where he was a linebacker for the Temple Owls.) “Every time I went in, it was jam packed,” he said.
It is the third Pita Pit location in St. Louis, along with stores in downtown St. Louis, opened in 2011 by franchisee Ketan Patel, and Edwardsville, opened last year by franchisee Jim Hettler.
